Ángel Luis Quero, Director of Press & Media Relations, Contens and Internet
Ángel Quero has been a journalist for almost 25 years. He has a degree in Journalism from the Complutense University of Madrid (1989) and a Diploma of Advanced Studies in the doctoral program “Communications, Technological Boom and Socio-cultural Renovation” (2004).
Overall, a quarter of a century of work in seven communications companies and the European University of Madrid, where he was Associate Professor in the Department of Specialized Journalism in the Faculty of Communications and Humanities and also Director of the University’s institutional newspaper for three years.
He started his career in journalism working for IT and computer publications, first as a staff writer for the multinational VNU on the monthly magazines “PC Magazine” and “PC Actual”, and later as the Head of the International Section at the weekly magazine “Computer World” published by IDG.
From the world of professional IT and computer media he moved on to more general media, becoming Editor-in-Chief of the monthly popular science and technology magazine,” ON OFF”, published by Globus.
Ángel played an important role in the creation and launching of three computer and IT supplements published by nationally distributed Spanish newspapers. The first was “ABC Informática” (www.abc.es ) (published by Prensa Española), the first supplement in Spain dedicated to the world of Computers and IT, for which Ángel was Editor-in-Chief for the printed version and Director of Contents for ABC.es (www.tecnologica.es).
Later, he took charge of the creation and management of “El Buscador”, published by “Diario16”. And finally, he was part of the founding team of “Ariadna” (http://www.elmundo.es/ariadna), the weekly IT supplement published by “El Mundo”, for which he managed the Internet section.
While at the European University of Madrid, he was Associate Professor for three years and Director of the institutional newspaper “El Universitario Europeo” for which he led the creation of a digital version. He also participated in several national and international congresses and obtained a “Diploma de Estudios Avanzados (DEA) (Diploma of Advanced Studies). He is now Director of Press & Media Relations, Contents and Internet at Dagonpress.
